News: Joe Budden To Release A Second Album This Year

Joe Budden is preparing to release another album in 2009, despite releasing his last album Padded Room in February of this year. 

The new album The Great Escape will be the third album in a trilogy of conceptual albums that also include Padded Room and 2008’s Halfway House.

According to HipHopDX.com, the album will be preceded by Escape Route, an official mixtape which will be available online only through Amalgam Digital’s website sometime in July. 

Despite being released independently Padded Room was a commercial success. The album debuted at #5 on the Top Rap Albums Chart and #2 on the indie album chart, with 13,800 copies sold in its first week of release. The Great Escape is scheduled to be released on October 13th of this year.

Budden is also a member of the Hip-Hop super group Slaughterhouse along with Crooked I, Joell Ortiz, and Royce Da 5’9. The group’s self titled debut will be released through E1 Music (former Koch Records) on August 11th.
